I always love competing in this special disc golf event — there’s something truly unique about the atmosphere, the people, and the stunning Lake Ōhau setting that makes Wāhi Tapu an unforgettable experience every year. This year, I was stoked to secure 2nd place in the MA40 division, narrowly missing out on the win by just one shot in what was, as always, an incredibly competitive field. Round 1 was a highlight — I played a fairly clean and confident round, finishing two strokes ahead of the field with a 967-rated performance, which is a really strong result for me personally. Unfortunately, Round 2 didn’t quite go to plan, with a few missed putts costing me valuable strokes and dropping me just off the pace. Thankfully, I was able to bounce back in Round 3, fighting hard and trading scores for the lead throughout the round — ultimately finishing just one shot shy of taking first place. A massive thank you goes out to my caddies, card mates, and everyone from RPM Discs for their continued support. I’m incredibly grateful for the camaraderie and encouragement from all my fellow disc golf friends and family across the weekend.
