Started Disc Golf in 2000
How did you discover Disc Golf?
My dad began taking my brother and I to Morley Field, San Diego, in the early 2000s. We'd rent 1 disc each and play for $1. My dad, being a skilled traditional golfer, was competitive and showed us the ropes. I played on and off, renting discs, through secondary school. Began to compile my own discs during university and found the CSU: Fort Collins disc golf team my final year of university after playing Ultimate the year before. I began competing with the team and fell in love with the sport and the community. Been hooked since!
What is your proudest Disc Golf moment?
Working with my middle school in San Diego, CA to install a 9 hole course on their large field area so the Gym class could add disc golf to their curriculum. My wife and I volunteered 2 days to teach each gym class the basics of disc golf and throwing mechanics. They loved it and a few kids were naturals, with one even throwing a thumber ace in from about 200 ft (60 m) the 2nd day!
What are your practice routines?
Putting each day with 3-4 days per week at the field focusing on one form issue at a time. I shoot to get at least 1 league round in each week to refresh my mental game and at least 1 casual round in per week.
What is your go-to tip for beginners?
Let the last shot go. Golf isn't about perfect. A positive attitude, at the right moment, can take you far in this sport.

Comment: "Hard to choose but here in Denver, CO at 5,280 ft (1,690 m) the Kotuku is the perfect overstability. Down at sea level I can still trust it to finish after a straighter flight."
