Started Disc Golf in 2022

A couple of friends went out to play with one of their brothers old discs. I thought it sounded like a sumb idea. We had enough fun that we bought starter sets. When the novelty wore off for my friends I still wanted to play. So i played by myself basically every day until my starter set was so beat in it was unthrowable. I found the local social group, started playing leagues and the rest is history.

I won the WA Open in MA3 in 2023, not long after I started playing. It was a huge breakthrough for me. I put up a 948 rated round and was mixing it with the pro scores that day. It was awesome to stand up there after three really tough days. I think it wasn't so much about winning but showing everyone that I was there to play and to watch out in the future!

I go to the first hole of my local, empty the bag, putt them all in. Then I do that on the second hole. And then repeat. I never really score rounds when I am by myself. It's just form work and getting in reps. Making the disc feel comfortable in my hand. I also try and putt for 15 minutes on the way to work. This really depends what side of the bed I wake up on.

Realise you're not close to getting it right. So many times I thought I was one or two tweaks from a perfect throw. I wasn't. It took me really focusing on video of me next to pros to realise just how far I was away. Be humble. Be ready to rebuild the throw.
