When/how did you discover disc golf and knew you absolutely loved it?
I discovered disc golf when I was in high school went out with an ultimate disc and found that disc golf is a pretty awesome sport. Never new about the competitions or leagues or even if I was good enough to play in them. I found a love for the game when I traveled to New Zealand, and my friend Andy talked me into playing in leagues and tournament. Well let’s just say I have played every week since those days.
What’s your favourite RPM Disc in your bag right now and why?
Favorite….. Well that is a difficult questions, but someone took all my discs out and said you can only have one back it would be the Kotuku. The Kotuku is the mid that I have always wanted it is reliable for any type of shot you want to perform, and can also handle the torque of a forehand. I use the Glow plastic, just because I love the tacky feel, but Atomic is my runner up, working on breaking them both in to go straight.
Do you have any practice routines? If so, what are they?
My practice routine is to find an open field measure out distances, and work on being slow and smooth. Also, just finding an aim point usually a light poll and trying to land different types of shots at it.
What are your goals for the current season?
My goals for 2022, win a B-tier (because 2nd is good but not great), land in the top 5 in an A-tier. Increase my rating by 20 points
Do you have a proudest disc golf moment?
Winning my first tournament has to be my proudest moment. Hoping to make a new moment in 2022.
What is the most memorable disc golf battle you’ve experienced/witnessed?
Well I think this has to be the shot heard across the world of James Conrad and Paul McBeth. If we are talking about my career, I have battled for victories, but I think it actually has to be the battle I lost. I was playing in a b-tier with a 4 stroke lead. I was nervous as this is my first time having this type of lead going into the final round (literally shaking). My opponent caught me going into the final holes, and the nail in the coffin was when I didn’t choose my kiwi for a head wind through (15mph headwind). My disc flips up and goes OB leading two a 2 stroke swing and pushing me out of the running. It was a fantastic battle but was a fantastic learning experience.
What is your go to tip for disc golf beginners?
Be as loose and malleable as possible when throwing a drive, and from there move around your disc (there is no such thing as pulling motion)
If you could play any course in the world and bring along any 3 disc golf friends, where and who would it be?
Northwood Black and I would bring my normal crew of Brett E., Taylor T, and Stephen M.
