Year Started Disc Golf
When/how did you discover disc golf and knew you absolutely loved it?
I was working at a summer camp in North Carolina, U.S. and we had a 9 hole disc golf course on the property. A fellow staff member was playing the course and I was curious as to what he was doing. I asked him, and he told me and gave me a couple of his discs to play with. I fell in love with disc golf at the moment I let the disc fly.
What’s your favourite RPM Disc in your bag right now and why?
I am going to cheat and say 2 molds. First, the Kea. I have loved the Kea since I got my hands on one. It was the first RPM disc I ever owned. I have two, a blue and a clear cosmic Kea. I currently bag my blue one and have aced with it twice this past year two weeks apart. Second, the Huia. I have two Huias, a glow and an atomic. My glow Huia is an absolute work horse. I throw it everywhere I go and birdie with it 9 times out of 10.
Do you have any practice routines? If so, what are they?
What are your goals for the current season?
My goals this year are to maintain a 970+ rating as well as add to my career win total.
Do you have a proudest disc golf moment?
Yes. My proudest disc golf moment was my first MPO win this past season. More specifically, the playoff hole I one on. Me and one other player went into a playoff and ended on the first hole. It was a tough hole, I had taken a bogey on it in that final round. He threw a good shot, but was a clear par. I threw right up the gut of a tight gap and nearly aced, going past the basket 40 feet. He pitches up to take a par. I knew the pressure was almost off now because if I miss we go to the next hole that I am super confident on. So, putt confidently knowing that a miss is not the end. I line up my 40 footer and nail it dead center with my Magma hard Takapu for the win.
What is the most memorable disc golf battle you’ve experienced/witnessed?
What is your go to tip for disc golf beginners?
Embrace the season of bad disc golf. Embrace the learning process. Learn good form and how to throw every type of disc. Be patient in the process. Enjoy the process. Love the process. Trust the process.
If you could play any course in the world and bring along any 3 disc golf friends, where and who would it be?
The Beast in Nokia, Finland or Maple Hill in Massachusetts. I would take my friends Riley, Zach, fellow teammate Nathan Davis, and Ryan.
