Year Started Disc Golf
When/how did you discover disc golf and knew you absolutely loved it?
I grew up playing Ultimate Frisbee and playing target disc golf, so I thought I thought I would give it a try. My first time out I really struggled to throw the disc well, but at some point I fell in love with the game.
What’s your favourite RPM Disc in your bag right now and why?
Either the Kotuku or the Kahu XG. The Kotuku is a midrange that just seems to do exactly what I want it to do, and the Kahu XG just has an absolutely beautiful flight.
Do you have any practice routines? If so, what are they?
I try to practice putting to really build the consistency and confidence. Feeling like you can't miss your putt is an incredible feeling and often results in some of the best rounds.
What are your goals for the current season?
My goal is to get my rating up to 945 and be able to throw farther and with more accuracy.
Do you have a proudest disc golf moment?
My proudest moment was getting my first ace at my home course. I thought the throw was bad, and ended up skipping into the basket.
What is the most memorable disc golf battle you’ve experienced/witnessed?
I had a 4 stroke lead going into hole 15 in the final round. I smashed my hand on a tree at the release. I ended up taking a double bogey on that hole, and then a bogey on hole 17 and the chaser got a birdie so we were tied going into the final hole. He teed off and made the mistake of throwing into the woods off the fairway. I capitalized and put my drive 20 ft from the basket for birdie. He missed his shot for par, so I laid up under the basket for a one stroke win.
What is your go to tip for disc golf beginners?
Slow is smooth, smooth is fast, fast is far.
If you could play any course in the world and bring along any 3 disc golf friends, where and who would it be?
I would take Kelsey, Taylor and Ben to Krokhol Disc Golf Course in Siggerud, Norway because the people are great company and the scenery is stunning!
