Disc Golf Career

Started Disc Golf in 2010

How did you discover Disc Golf?

I first discovered disc golf from my friend Steve Pearson. My baseball career had just ended and he introduced me to the sport. I fell in love with the game just going out and competing with friends. Nate Salvon and I would push each other to become better and better. Then came the tournaments where I get my competitive fix in life!

What is your proudest Disc Golf moment?

Qualifying, and Playing in the 2022 USDGC. On 4 Rounds at Winthrop I finished under par and beat so many of the world's best players my first and only time playing there.

What are your practice routines?

I get most my practice for tournament play at my local Sunday disc golf league at Leverich Park. I also spend a lot of time in the gym. I play basketball and bowl competitively most the year too. I believe these sports help me in the physical and mental aspects of disc golf.

What is your go-to tip for beginners?

Just learn to throw your putter. When I started to really get good at the game is when I installed a "putter only" course in my neighborhood. When I learned to control longer shots with my putter, I was quickly able to learn to control all my discs better.

Comment: "I absolutely love the piwakawaka. It filled a giant hole in my game. I have never thrown anything like it. I've always been good at hyzerflipping understable discs, but with just putters and drivers. My "Purple Piwick" is my go to disc on shots between 250' and 350'. This disc, by far, contributed to more birdies in my 2023 season than any other disc in my bag."
