Year Started Disc Golf
When/how did you discover disc golf and knew you absolutely loved it?
Discovered it in 2013 when I was living in very rural South Dakota working at the Boys & Girls Club in between the native american reservations. Some guys invited me to play and I became hooked right away.
What’s your favourite RPM Disc in your bag right now and why?
Nearly impossible to just choose 1 favorite RPM mold. Right now my favorites are the Kotare, Piwakawaka and Tui. They are so versatile. They give me extreme confidence. They feel so good in the hand and go exactly where I want them to.
Do you have any practice routines? If so, what are they?
I love putting practice with my Takapus and Tuis. I try to do at least 20 minutes a day whenever I’m home. I also love going to the field by my house that is right by the ocean and throwing all of the discs in my bag. I bring my yoga mat and get a nice stretch and warm up. And then start with my putters up to distance drivers and throw every disc in my bag to get them locked in.
What are your goals for the current season?
Get my first tournament Win 🙂 Reach 940 PDGA rating 🙂
Do you have a proudest disc golf moment?
I loved my improvement in 2022. Very proud of increasing my rating and my distance. Something I’m most proud of is writing a grant that was awarded $5,500 and brought the EDGE (Educational Disc Golf Experience) to the Boys & Girls Club.
What is the most memorable disc golf battle you’ve experienced/witnessed?
Not in person but I loved watching Simon win 4 times in 2022 and Paul take down Worlds. That was intense.
What is your go to tip for disc golf beginners?
Start slow and dont try too hard. Go get a Tui, Piwakawaka and a Pekapeka and throw them a bunch. Dont FORCE anything. Watch Youtube videos from Ulibarri and others who teach backhand and FH form. Focus on form and putting. Not distance. And have FUN
If you could play any course in the world and bring along any 3 disc golf friends, where and who would it be?
I cant wait to play in Norway at the RPM Open. I wish I could bring my buddies Nick, Ryan and my Pops with me.
