When/how did you discover disc golf and knew you absolutely loved it?
In 2021 at an ultimate frisbee tournament a few of my teammates were throwing disc golf discs between our games. I gave it a go and managed to crush a throw with a fairway driver and was hooked from the moment I saw the perfect full flight of the disc.
What’s your favourite RPM Disc in your bag right now and why?
Tough call they are all very important to me. I find I can use the kea for so many different shots that it is probably my most used. But I think my favourite will always be the Ruru.
Do you have any practice routines? If so, what are they?
Mostly just playing rounds. I like to do putting practice from 8-12m leading up to tournaments and the occasional fieldwork session.
What are your goals for the current season?
Improve my rating and work towards winning a tournament in the MA1 division which I have moved up to this year.
Do you have a proudest disc golf moment?
My first tournament win which came pretty early in my disc golf career.
What is the most memorable disc golf battle you’ve experienced/witnessed?
I had a play-off win against a fellow RPM Tribe member after coming back from 4 strokes down on hole 16. We had both finished 1st and 2nd at the previous 2 events with one stroke in it before this as well, so the rivalry was strong.
What is your go to tip for disc golf beginners?
Learn to throw a smaller number of discs different ways before expanding your bag. This will hopefully help your wallet as well.
If you could play any course in the world and bring along any 3 disc golf friends, where and who would it be?
The first course I ever played (before knowing anything about disc golf) was in Queenstown during a skiing trip. I would like to go back now I have learnt the sport. I would go with my 3 Frisbee/disc golf playing friends Mitch, Remmy and Liam
