Money can't buy you happiness but it can buy you some pretty good disc golf discs!!

When/how did you discover disc golf and knew you absolutely loved it?
2019 in Te Anau for a weekend away. We drove past a sign that said 'disc golf'. We had no idea what that was, so we turned around and had a look. We were that impressed that we drove straight back into town and purchased discs. We had no idea what a disc was or, what flight numbers ment. I by luck bought a Piwakawaka for the only reason that I work in a prison and the unit I was working in at that time was called 'Piwakawaka unit 33'. So I bought a Piwakawaka for that reason. We played until are arms felt like they were falling off. Looking back there was no form just throwing as hard as we could. We came back to our home town and discovered a local disc golf club. Never looked back since.
What’s your favourite RPM Disc in your bag right now and why?
Magma soft Kea. I can confidently throw it into a head wind knowing it won't turn over. It is such a versatile disc that has a place in my bag.
Do you have any practice routines? If so, what are they?
Field work! Most days. I throw approach, mid's and drivers on different days with different winds to understand the disc flight with certain conditions. With putting. I practice at 6 meters and under, with a soft Takapu with a aim to getting consistent at that distance before increasing the distance.
What are your goals for the current season?
My goals for this season is to play as many tournaments as I can, with a goal to keep improving and gaining knowledge.
Do you have a proudest disc golf moment?
Winning my division at Paradise last year.
What is the most memorable disc golf battle you’ve experienced/witnessed?
2022 with Martin Galley at the Timaru Tukauati. Over 90 holes over three days. We were both tied for first place at the end. It took 7 extra holes to eventually find a winner.
What is your go to tip for disc golf beginners?
Throw mid's and putters until you get your form. Then slowly move into fairway drivers. Something understable like a pekepeka. Ideally start with a rpm starter set.
If you could play any course in the world and bring along any 3 disc golf friends, where and who would it be?
Paridise New Zealand!! The view and scenery can't get any better. I would take my Paridise doubles partner from this year Jack Maffey. Lance Eason ( also new to the rpm team) and my Lord's of Lismore partner from this year. Also my good friend Mike Dalton as if it wasn't for him I wouldn't be playing disc golf. We both started on the very same day just by chance, he would love it.
