When/how did you discover disc golf and knew you absolutely loved it?
I discovered disc golf on a family vacation to Jindabyne in July 2020 (Covid Baby). Had never heard of disc golf but we got a starter set and played a couple times during our vacation. Got back to Sydney and found out the had a club, attended our first social day sept that year and have been loving it ever since. I knew I loved this sport when I saw my disc hyzer flip for the 1st time.
What’s your favourite RPM Disc in your bag right now and why?
My beat in strata Kotuku for sure. Holds any line i put it on.
Do you have any practice routines? If so, what are they?
Usually practice for 30-60 mins after work 3 times a week. Putting in the backyard most days with my 4 year old son.
What are your goals for the current season?
Play more consistent during tournaments. Top 5 MA40 NZ Champs.
Do you have a proudest disc golf moment?
2022 Jesmond Jam. This was my 1st ever tournament victory and the 1st time I ever shot under par. I also beat 5 other players who I hold in high regard becuse when I started out I thought that there was no way I would ever be able to beat any of these guys because they were so much better than I was.
What is the most memorable disc golf battle you’ve experienced/witnessed?
Jack Lemon trying to throw his Huia where he wants it to go. Always a fun battle to witness.
What is your go to tip for disc golf beginners?
Don’t be afraid to play in tournaments. It is so much fun and you get to learn off more experienced players.
If you could play any course in the world and bring along any 3 disc golf friends, where and who would it be?
Spa Park – Taupo with Peata Hepi, Claire Bruton and Mark Boland. Will luckily be ticking this off the bucket list this year with Mark and Claire.
