How did you discover Disc Golf?

My buddies took me out in 2018 during the summer saying they found this new game. I instantly fell in love with it because I was able to hang out with them and also enjoy the nature around me. As we kept doing this over the next couple of month, I could see myself improving and it just kept me wanting more.

What is your proudest Disc Golf moment?

Winning my first tournament in 2022. It was at a place that I've only played once before and I was able to come from behind and win the tournament. Also, starting a disc golf club at the high school I teach at. We have about 20-25 students that have been playing and growing the game is a big part of what I want to do.

What are your practice routines?

I usually start with some stretching to get my lower body and back warmed up before I do anything. Then I proceed to a basket and try to get 20-30 putts in before I start my round. Once I feel good, then I head to a teepad and start warming up by throwing some discs to make sure my timing is right. If all goes well then I am good to go with my round.

What is your go-to tip for beginners?

Do not compare your throws with others. I remember when I first started I was only throwing about 150ft. Enjoy the beauty of the game! I really enjoy just being able to play with my friends and being outside with nature. It is relaxing if you can focus on that at first and if you are serious about it continue to get better by watching videos or just doing field work.

Comment: "Takapu is one of the best putters out there!! It is reliable and I always know how it is going to finish. I love how it is beadless on the rim and feels great in my hands."
