When/how did you discover disc golf and knew you absolutely loved it?
In 2017 my boyfriend told me that there’s a sport called disc golf and that he had played a few times in the past on a course near our place. I always enjoyed playing frisbee to I was keen to get to know this sport. I really liked it and we went to play a few times. It escalated quickly when I traveled to New Zealand on my own in the beginning of 2018. I just brought 3 discs because I thought it’d be fun to play a course on the other side of the world. The Nationals in NZ were my first tournament, planned my tour around some more tournament and flew back two months later than planned whit an extra suitcase full of RPM discs. I totally got the bug in NZ.
What’s your favourite RPM Disc in your bag right now and why?
My favourite RPM Disc is my Maga Soft Kea. It’s trusty and perfect for my sidearm approach. It always stays where it lands. That’s perfect!
Do you have any practice routines? If so, what are they?
I play a round on my 24 hole homecourse once a week. Honestly that’s not a practice routine at all. We just started to train regularly with my local club and I’d like to develop a putting routine a few times a week.
What are your goals for the current season?
One of my goals is to represent Team RPM in the best way possible. I’d like to enjoy my time on the course and participate in the AM Worlds this year.
Do you have a proudest disc golf moment?
Next to my first place in the “14. Nikolaus Turnier” 2021 after an exciting playoff, I’m really proud to be part of Team RPM!
What is the most memorable disc golf battle you’ve experienced/witnessed?
In November 2021 I finished tied first with two incredible women in a challenging tournament. I couldn’t believe it! We had to play a playoff and it took us six holes to finish it. It was more than exciting and I was totally exhausted but over the moon when I won the playoff with a birdie on the last hole. It’s probably nothing special for others but it was the most memorable disc golf battle I’ve experienced, yet.
What is your go to tip for disc golf beginners?
Just do what feels right. I think it’s one of the most important things that a beginner feels as comfortable as possible on the course to keep it fun. Even if your favorite disc your throwing isn’t the discs that makes the most sense for beginners, just enjoy what you’re doing. Your game will improve if you keep on track and you’ll get to know what fits you the best. And never hesitate to ask for help and advice.
If you could play any course in the world and bring along any 3 disc golf friends, where and who would it be?
I’d travel to New Zealand with my boyfriend and my parents. I’d love to show them the courses I played and to share this experience. Bethells would probably the first course I’d show them.
