How did you discover Disc Golf?
My friends took me out to play a bit of "folf" in the mountains of Montana near my University. I had always loved throwing the frisbee, as my dad taught me to throw at the age of 3. So when they gave me a dx shark to throw I immediately fell in love with the sport! It combined my love for throwing discs and watching it's flight, the game of golf, and the peace and serenity of being in nature... to me there is no better way to spend a moment in time.
What is your proudest Disc Golf moment?
Two aces in one night at leagues! Both holes were quite challenging, and the second ace was 345ft!
What are your practice routines?
Putting in the backyard with my daughters. Some field work from time to time, but I prefer to practice at leagues, and play rounds with friends that are better than I am.
What is your go-to tip for beginners?
Your ego is not your amigo. We all started this sport for fun keep it that simple. Less is more. Learn to throw one disc at a time. Creating muscle memory from your swing will allow you to figure out the right discs for you.
Favourite Disc
Plastic Type: Atomic
Comment: "The Piwakawaka is the perfect disc for beginners and a must have for skilled players too, as it holds any line you want to put it on. There is no other disc I'd take with me while playing in the north woods of Minnesota. "
