How did you discover Disc Golf?
I needed to go out and throw in a relaxing way after a tough Ultimate practice. My teammate and friend, Amy had just taken 3rd at Am Worlds and took me disc golfing with her. It was a great way to throw and interact with nature without having to wait for a full team to show up at practice. Fell in love with the sport over the summer of 2000 after playing Mad City Open and Minnesota Majestic, then taking 2nd at Am Worlds in Ann Arbor.
What is your proudest Disc Golf moment?
There are so many. Winning Worlds in 2010 was pretty amazing, as was Worlds in 2013. Being inducted into the IL Disc Golf Hall of Fame in 2020 was another awesome moment.
What are your practice routines?
Depends on the day. I do a lot of putting practice and fieldwork when I can. When I play with friends, I am always learning from them, and then try what they did during fieldwork and putting practices.
Day of tournament, my ideal set up is a soccer field or ball diamond where I can throw to warm up and a putting basket to warm up.
I do yoga and stretching daily, and make sure to be limbered up (rule 18) before my round starts.
What is your go-to tip for beginners?
Play catch as much as possible. There is no better way to try throwing discs a bunch of different ways to see what they do.
Also, play your game. You know what throws and discs you have down, but it is super easy to see a competitor try something you have never done during a tournament and think that is an appropriate time to try it. (spoiler alert, it is not the right time). If it is a good idea, work it into your practice routine, then break it out when you have it down.

Comment: "This has been a game-changing disc for me, as it is lovely to have a disc one can throw straight. This beauty holds whatever line you put on it, and has a ridiculous glide."
