How did you discover Disc Golf?
I discovered disc golf from my childhood best friend. I was off visiting colleges and came home to his excitement to show us this new sport he discovered. So we went out with 1 disc on a 9 hole course, where the longest hole was 180ft, and fell in love!
I got hooked on being in nature as well as the freedom to play competitively or casually, disc golf allows opportunities for mental breaks and focus.
What is your proudest Disc Golf moment?
My proudest moment was creating a therapy program, at a stabilizing hospital, for adults recovering from addiction and personality diagnosis. My brother and I worked with local shops to fund raise for baskets and then used our degree in occupational therapy to set up a treatment session focused on grounding and focus utilizing disc golf. The treatment session got recognized around the US and we were offered to participate in a scientific study to truly test to benefits of disc golf.
What are your practice routines?
I always stretch - back, hamstrings, quads, shoulder rotations, trunk twists, squat jumps.
Then I practice putts from 10-33 until I’m making at least 75%. I take a few putts from 125 and in and then test my jump putt range.
I then move to a field to toss putters, then mids and work my way up to throwing 75% before working onto the course.
What is your go-to tip for beginners?
Slow down and take a breath. Make sure you have your form before you have speed and then distance/accuracy with transfer.
When you stop enjoying practice or casual rounds then you’ve lost one of the best things disc golf provides.

Comment: "The kea is a staple in my bag with its consistent fade and slower speed I know I can trust the disc in any weather and any approach inside 330ft. "
