Started Disc Golf in 2022

I started almost randomly, and was hooked from day one. Form work, disc choices, field work, putting practice, you name it. Now almost 2 years later, I'm even more in love.

Playing the All Hyzers Eve Halloween tournament across 2 days. Day 1 playing Mayflower Hills in Roanoke, VA: I managed to take a +8 on one of the first holes of the first round of 3. Kept the mental game where it needed to be, and while I didn't by any means win - I still managed to shoot above my rating and had an amazing time.

Every day during the work-week I spend the majority of my lunch hour practicing putting and sometimes a few drives with putters. During non-tournament weekends, I try to play a variety of my local courses focusing on specific pieces of my game ranging from form/video review work, putting, upshots, new discs, new shot shapes, and sometimes just to play some rounds.

Separate your "shot" from the "result." You can do EVERYTHING perfectly correct, no mistakes, no miscalculations and still have weird things happen. It's ok! Don't take the universe, trees, birds, or bad skips causing a bad result as a reflection of your skill, form, choices, or "shot". Enjoy the game, and remember that's part of why this whole disc golf thing can be kinda hard 😉
