How did you discover Disc Golf?

I started playing when my friends in college invited me, and I enjoyed it enough to buy my first Innova starter kit. I played off and on for a few years, until I moved to North Carolina, and found a couple of the leagues in the area. After playing in my first tournament, in 2021, I started playing more consistently, and started working on my form. What made me fall in love with the sport is when my best friend, Noah Osborne #77277, and I went down to Rock Hill, SC. I had found a really cool looking Discraft Thrasher, my first distance driver. The first time I threw it, it flew over 350ft, which was the first time I had thrown over 200ft up to that point. I threw that thrasher so much that day that my arm gave out on me. It's still my go-to distance driver, in addition to my Platinum Kahu.

What is your proudest Disc Golf moment?

Finally breaking the 500ft, and 550ft marks in the same throw by crushing my ESP Thrasher 569ft on a 700ft hole at Harmon Hills.

What are your practice routines?

I don't get as much time to practice as I'd like, so I usually just get out about once or twice a week and when I have a tournament coming up, I'll get out and practice putting more than actually playing, because that's the weakest part of my game.

What is your go-to tip for beginners?

Don't worry about the distance, or throwing the fastest disc out there. Start with a slower, less stable disc, and work on throwing it flat. Once you get comfortable with that, and you start to put enough spin on the disc to start turning it over without trying, start putting a little hyzer on it, and get it to flip up to flat and just ride. Then, you can move up to a faster speed disc, and just watch it fly for miles.

Comment: "I was looking for a disc that I could trust to fly straight through the woods, and get distance at the same time. My friend Noah let me throw a Piwakawaka that he had gotten in his allotment from RPM, and I fell in love with it immediately. It's not only become my go-to woods disc, but my friends refuse to call it by it's name, and just call it my Tour Series Disc. I'll never correct them, because if I were to ever get a TS disc, it would 100% be the Piwakawaka."
